Calculate Area of Scalene Triangles
The triangle is one of the basic geometric shapes in geometry. It has 3 sides with 3 vertices (corners). The Scalene triangles is but one category of triangles which have 3 unequal sides and 3 unequal angles.
Here, we have two methods of working out the area of a Scalene Triangle, one formula is based on knowing all the side lengths and the other is by knowing 2 sides and the inbetween angle...
The formula for this (scalene) and any other types of triangle can be found with Heron's formula (Hero's formula).
s = ½(a + b + c)
Area = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))
Area = ½a x b x Sin(C)
*All sides and lengths are in units (e.g. metres), and area will be in unit squares (e.g. metres2). Angles are in degrees (θ°)
